Laura Overstreet: Have a listen
Love It Out Instead
(Laura Overstreet)
Music and Lyrics by Laura Overstreet
One day a friend and I were having lunch and he was talking about all the problems he was having in a love relationship. Kept saying, "We have to work on it." I thought to myself, why not love it out instead?
All my friends agree with me, I’m sure your friends agree with you too
But you were wrong for what you did and didn’t do
They say I should move along, it’s no good when we come head to head
I don’t think we can work it out, let’s love it out instead
I try to follow their advice, put the past in it’s place and move on
But something about our love haunts me when they’re gone
I drive by a familiar place, I think of something we did back then
I start to feel like I did when we loved it out instead
But with all that’s come between us should I look the other way
Can I just forget the painful things we’ve said
If I held you close against me could we take the hurt away
I don’t think we can work it out, let’s love it out instead, yeah
Let’s love it out instead
I may be my worst enemy or I may be my own best friend
All I know is sometimes I need you again
It may not work but I need to try, I’m not sure our love is dead
But I don’t think we can work it out, let’s love it out instead
